Weaving a Story

Structure

In addition to naming this interactive story project after my grandmother’s experience loudly weaving on the second floor of the farmhouse, I’ve structured it to mimic some key elements of a rag rug loom. The three stories, which combine scraps of memories and past stories together in new ways, function as the Weft. And my reflection on the process of storytelling and its importance for the Puotinen family function as the Warp.

Here is a description of my design concept for the first story, Only Temporarily Yours:

1. Select farm images (photographs from Scott Anderson, Judy Puotinen):
